Stars Go Dim and David Cote’ Visit REACH High School
Wednesday afternoon, October 21st, was a very magical time at REACH High School. World renowed recording artist, Stars Go Dim, arrived for a long awaited visit from Tusla, Oklahoma on their way to Austin. Although Stars Go Dim's first CD has only been out since August 2009, the success the band is already experiencing is enormous.
Starting this weekend, everyone catching a movie in Los Angeles and San Francisco in over 200 theaters will see the music video for "Come Around" before the movie begins. And even though SGD has never visited the Philippines, thus far, they already have two #1 singles on the airwaves. For those watching television this fall, their new album has been licensed to be played on over a dozen popular television programs. Finally, for those flying on Delta Airlines during November and December will hear their first single as well as read about the band in Delta's Sky Magazine.
Joey Avalos on guitar and Chris Cleveland on vocals performed "Incredible", "Come Around", "Walk On" and "Get Over It" for REACH students and staff. Following the set, bass player Michael Wittig shared words of encouragement and wisdom. In addition to donating their time to REACH, the band also donated twenty free CDs to the school for the students.
Prior to Stars Go Dim, the students were very impressed with the talent exhibited by the David Cote’ Band. David was kind enough to loan his sound equipment for the afternoon, in addition to his sound man, Justin, as well as play three songs for the students. David sang and played guitar while Heath played the bongos on "Nothing Without You", "One More Day" and "Something New". The band also struck up a hip hop beat while REACH student, Daniel M. showed off his flowing talents with an original song.
